Our Mission
One Eye Publications is the proud publisher of Pianokids®, Violinkids® and Guitarkids® music book collections – the teaching method of choice at music studios and principal universities throughout North America.
We specialize in music education for young children and offer a child-centred approach using creativity, analysis, and expression to develop a "musical mind and heart." Our music books tackle a back to the basics approach with easy to understand, uncluttered pages. The delightful, child-friendly pieces and creative theory pages, combined with an outstanding technical approach, encourage practice and progress in reading and playing music for piano, violin, and guitar –with adventure!
One Eye Publications pays homage to Maximus, the VP of Quality Control – and our favourite feline! Maximus was brought into Scugog Animal Control in Port Perry, Ontario, in mid-May after being found injured on the side of the road and endured extensive surgery to remove an injured eye. Maximus was adopted just days after surgery by Marie-Therese Gummer and has carried on One Eye Publications' legacy name due to his One Eye. Maximus is the overseer of the growth and development of the Pianokids®, Violinkids® and Guitarkids® series and is becoming more comfortable each day adapting to life as a house cat.

It is well known that listening to music has a positive effect on people of all ages! From infancy, babies frequently respond to the sounds of music by smiling or humming along and in general, listening to music makes people feel better. Studies indicate that young music students, on average, excel in their school more than children who not studying music and teenagers frequently find their social lives improving when performing for friends or at school functions.

In today's busy world, many children, unfortunately, do not always have the chance to take music lessons but there are a number of factors that can also help young students choose music lessons as a preferred activity! The most important starting point for music lessons is finding the right teacher who chooses a method that combines a solid music education with a fun-filled approach to enhance the musical experience.
